This week participants did bhangra as a fitness exercise. Bhangra is a traditional folk dance that originates from the farming communities of Punjab and gets its name from the harvest of the bhang (hemp) crop. Popular for its highly energetic and upbeat moves, the dance workout includes continuous and rhythmic movements, making it a good workout for your body. It helps tone your arms, hips, and leg muscles. Also, dancing to music releases serotonin and endorphin hormones, which reduce stress and induce happiness.

After, Baljeet spoke about the importance of having good habits and routines in our lives. She suggested ways to develop a healthy mindset for us but also those around us. This includes replacing harmful habits with ones that will have a positive effect on our mental and physical health. For example, ditching the TV for exercise. She emphasised the importance of shifting from a state of blame to taking responsibility. Blame works as a defence mechanism and helps you safeguard your sense of self-esteem by evading the awareness of your own failings or flaws. Accepting responsibility for your life will empower you to move forward and start taking actions towards achieving your goals
